"I have seen people create costumes - using only a Singer sewing machine, a hot glue gun, a hairdryer and various readily available materials - that look EXACTLY like the onscreen ones that inspired the cosplay, so why couldn’t it work in reverse? Complaining that Peter couldn’t possibly make his own Spider-Man suit seems like the most arbitrary criticism of the “realisticness” of The Amazing Spider-Man, and yet that very plot point is basically the one thing about the film that is realistic!"
